    Q:
How to Service the Power Steering Hose to Hydraulic Booster Pressure Line on 5.4L and 6.8L Engines on Ford F-350 Super Duty? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin service of the power steering pump to hydraulic booster pressure line on 5.4L and 6.8L engines by hoisting the vehicle into NEUTRAL position. A proper suction device should be used to drain the power steering fluid from its reservoir. The first step after reservoir fluid removal involves removing the air cleaner assembly. Fluid maintenance on the jumper line does not require you to detach it from your hydraulic booster while you work on the pressure line. Prior to reinstalling the power steering pressure line fitting it requires a torque of 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs. and proper connection to the jumper line. During bolting reinstallation normalize the pressure line bracket/pump bolt by using a torque of 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs). Remove the power steering pressure line from its three retainers by unclipping it and then separate the pressure line from the pump fitting to complete pressure line removal. The reinstallation should include fitting tightening to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.) along with power steering system filling.
