The operation to reseal the windshield begins by extracting the cowl panel grille followed by setting aside the left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) weather strips. Start by eliminating the LH and RH A-pillar trim panels from the vehicle before removing four screws to detach their electrical connections to extract both LH and RH sun visors together with their clips. The absorbent handle must first be removed if installed and then the assist handle screw covers should be opened before removing the two assist handle screws for handle removal. Support the lowered human-made piece at the front of the headliner with appropriate holding materials. Use an alcohol-free caulk to clean all windshield glass surfaces found inside and outside of the vehicle. You must shorten the urethane adhesive applicator tip to 6 mm (0.23 in) before you use a high-ratio electric or battery-operated caulk gun to apply urethane adhesive on top of existing urethane by making a continuous bead that smooths into all gaps. The windshield receiving urethane application will be done on its top and sides through the interior and bottom section from outdoors. The urethane adhesive must cure for at least one hour before leak inspection; add additional urethane to accomplish this. To complete the installation place the front section of the headliner correctly and use screws to reinstall both LH and RH assist handles before putting on the screw caps. Reinstall the overhead console then proceed with installing both the LH and RH sun visors with proper clip attachment while reconnecting electrical connectors and tightening them with four screws. Reinstall the LH and RH A-pillar trim panels together with the LH and RH weather strips and the cowl panel grille while redoing a clean up of windshield glass surfaces using alcohol-free cleaner.
