Before servicing the wiper arm users need to lift the windshield wiper pivot arm fully upright before removing it by unlocking the locking tab. The installation should begin by following the opposite order of removal but requires pushing the locking tab completely to its open (unlatched) position before inserting the pivot arm onto the mounting arm and pivot shaft.
