Shift Cable Installation and Repair Tips for 2005 Lincoln Navigator

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Shift Cable and Bracket for a Column Shift on 2005 Lincoln Navigator?
A: Remove lower instrument panel. Don't force the transmission shift cable between column lever and bracket. Disconnect cable from column and transmission; lift lock tabs, remove screw, push grommet into floor. With vehicle neutral on hoist, disconnect manual control lever, release lock tab, remove bracket bolts, bell-housing clip. Reinstall and adjust.
