How to Service and Repair the Ignition Lock Cylinder of the Steering Column on 2000 Ford Excursion?

The operational lock cylinder of the steering column requires service and repair which must begin by disconnecting the battery ground cable. Before removal of the ignition switch lock cylinder use the ignition key to position the key to the RUN position. Press the ignition switch lock cylinder release pin through the access hole while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder by using a 1/8-inch drift. Reinstalation should begin by following the reverse order of removal and testing the lock cylinder function in the ignition switch.
