2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the A/C condenser core for 5.4L, 6.8L, and 7.3L engines on 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty?
A: Service on the A/C condenser core for the 5.4L, 6.8L and 7.3L engines requires disconnection of the ground cable from the battery followed by performing the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. Take off the sight shield by removing its 8 pushpins to disconnect both the A/C condenser core inlet and outlet lines. First detach both grille supports with their right-hand and left-hand screws and afterward replace the hood latch while marking its position for alignment in the final assembly phase. The necessary next step is to remove the right-hand and left-hand A/C condenser core mounting brackets through their screws before lifting out the A/C condenser core. Reinstall the A/C condenser by working in reverse order but service the new component with proper amounts of PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-132a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent oil that follows Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Also apply PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent oil which satisfies the same Ford specification on O-ring seals.
