2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty A/C Accumulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Service an A/C Accumulator in an HVAC System on 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty?
A: Starting suction accumulator service for HVAC requires execution of the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. Use a back up wrench on the suction accumulator/drier fitting to dismount it together with the evaporator core outlet tube after separating the A/C cycling switch connector from both items. You should start by disconnecting both the auxiliary line fitting together with the manifold and tube assembly sections. Start by disconnecting the suction accumulator/drier bracket clamp bolts then extract the suction accumulator/drier before removing the A/C cycling switch from it. Install the new suction accumulator/drier by following the reverse order of removal while using the PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent that satisfies Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Apply the identical PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil to the O-ring seal and implement a back up wrench to defend the fitting and tube from damage.
