    A: The repair and servicing process for the rear cross-member starts with removing the stabilizer bar first. The wheel knuckles must have support in place before suspensions arms removal with priority given to rear lower arms then front lower arms and upper arms. Support the exhaust system before you disconnect its bracket for maintenance purposes. The servicing process for 3-door models starts with disconnecting the EVAP emission canister vent solenoid electrical connector then removing the vent pipes before separating the EVAP emission canister. Lower the crossmember with a suitable transmission jack while supporting its rear and remove the crossmember retaining bolts which exist as three per side. Afterward, lower the crossmember from position. Install retaining bolts on the crossmember exactly where it is placed while using three bolts per side of the crossmember. When installing the EVAP emission canister on 3-door models the technician must handle it with the vent pipes and EVAP emission canister vent solenoid electrical connector assembly. Follow the design height when reinstalling the exhaust system and installing upper arms and front and rear lower arms. Afterward install the stabilizer bar then verify the alignment of the rear wheels.
