2000 Ford Mustang Cooling Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Cooling Hose and Bypass Tube on 2000 Ford Mustang?
A: The first step to service coolant line and bypass tube starts with draining engine coolant beneath the bypass tube. Start by removing the bypass hose from the bypass tube and afterward uninstall the bolt to separate the bypass tube from the water pump. You should remove the heater hose from the bypass tube followed by the bracket bolt to detach the bypass tube completely. Installation requires mounting a new O-ring seat on the water bypass tube while avoiding cutting the O-ring seal because it will stop engine coolant leakage. After cleaning the O-ring sealing surface of the cylinder heads you should lubricate the O-ring seal. Apply Premium Engine Coolant E2FZ-19549-AA or B in Oregon and F5FZ-19549-CC in Canada because these products fulfill Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A. The installation process must be finished by performing the backward order of removal procedures.
