2000 Ford Ranger A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Condenser on 2000 Ford Ranger?
A: One must begin heating ventilation and air conditioning condenser servicing by recovering the refrigerant. The service procedure starts with disconnecting the condenser to evaporator tube along with the A/C manifold and tube from the core portion of the A/C condenser. First tilt the radiator back by removing the mounting screws then take out the push pins along with the top seal. Proceed by taking out the A/C condenser core by unscrewing its mounting screws. Follow the exact opposite order to install the new condenser core. Apply Motorcraft YN-12c refrigerant oil or WSH-M1C231-B equivalent to O-ring seals according to Ford specification. The new A/C evaporator core requires equivalent application of correct Motorcraft YN-12c refrigerant oil lubrication. Installation of a new suction accumulator/drier happens only when physical system contamination appears from either a faulty A/C compressor failure or suction accumulator/drier damage or a suspected leak in the A/C condenser core demands leak testing before removal.
