  A: Recovering the refrigerant should be the first step when servicing the HVAC accumulator followed by disconnecting the A/C cycling switch connector before removing the A/C cycling switch. The service follows with downstream removals starting with A/C manifold and tube disconnection from suction accumulator/drier using Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect and Connect then suction accumulator/drier disconnection from A/C evaporator core. When taking out the suction accumulator/drier users should use a back up wrench to protect the fitting and tube from damage. Once you remove the clamp screw you can take out the suction accumulator/drier. Follow the removal procedure in reverse to install the parts while applying Motorcraft YN-12c refrigerant oil or similar oil that meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B to the A/C cycling switch O-ring seal. A back up wrench must be applied to protect the fitting and tube from damage during this step of installation.
