How to service the ignition coil on 2000 Lincoln LS?

Service of the ignition coil requires starting with the engine appearance cover removal. In order to reach the right-hand bank ignition coils, the upper intake manifold needs to be taken out first. Remove the ignition coils by taking off their bolts while disconnecting their electrical connector. The reverse order is used for installation where ignition coils should be placed in position and the boots need to be checked for damage. Replacement of the ignition coil becomes necessary when any boot damage is detected.
