The Lincoln LS Ignition Coil is one of the essential parts of Lincoln LS an outstanding luxury sedan recognized internationally for its great engineering. It is called Ignition Coil as it is used to transform low voltage of battery to high voltage to ignite the air-fuel mixture and therefore supports the starting of the engine and also optimizes combustion. The Lincoln LS models between 1999 and 2006 have adopted the use of coil on plug technology where each cylinder gets its own Ignition Coil hence there are no voltage drops, and; as a result, the engine responds faster. As a result of this design, Lincoln LS experiences a boost in its performance while on the other hand, the safety of the car is well enhanced since fewer interferences with faulty misfiring or stalling that would compromise the safety of the vehicle is achieved. The efficiency of the Lincoln LS Ignition Coil is complimented also by its ability to support numerous LS models, so the drivers can smoothly maintain their automobiles. Time to time assessment and care should be given to the Ignition Coil because it unlike other parts gradually degrades and had effects on fuel economy and engine power. Furthermore, Lincoln LS Ignition Coil is also unique in the automobile market because of its toughness, and reliability which is the reason why any Lincoln owner will agree to fix his car with Lincoln LS Ignition Coil with an aim of maintaining high performance and safety of the car. In general, the Lincoln LS Ignition Coil is a rather significant part of the car design and provides the brand's key values of Luxury and Reliability.

Lincoln LS Ignition Coil Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the ignition coil-on-plug on Lincoln LS?
    A:
The service and repair of ignition coil-on-plug requires initial removal of EVAP Canister Purge Valve nuts then safe placement of valve and bracket around left-hand ignition coils. Start by removing the 12 bolts then take out the 2 ignition coil covers while eliminating all silicone sealant and residue from both parts and the valve cover surface and ignition coil wiring harness. First disconnect the 8 ignition coil electrical connectors followed by removing their 8 bolts. A light twisting motion during ignition coil removal will break their seals to facilitate easier extraction. Installation of ignition coils requires applying both silicone brake caliper grease and dielectric compound inside the ignition boots before bolt installation at 5 Nm (44 lb-in). Prior to applying silicone sealant through the valve cover notch, examine and dry the ignition coil electrical connectors followed by sealing with a 12.7-mm (0.5-inch) silicone bead. Place the ignition coil harness inside the silicone adhesive bead and then spread the sealant around the wire harness and notch area. Install the ignition coil covers followed by tightening their bolts to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) before placing the EVAP canister purge valve bracket and securing its nuts at 21 Nm (15 lb-ft).
