  A: To work on the manual transaxle console items you must first take off the gearshift knob followed by the spring and damping sleeve. Lift out the gearshift lever boot before you detach the rear screws from the floor console. Lift up the armrest when accessing it if the vehicle has one else take out the cup holder located at the back. First get rid of the ashtray and cigar lighter bezel parts and after that pull out the stowage tray by pushing on the power socket opening. Open the parking brake fully before disconnecting the front floor console screws and taking out the entire console. Unplug the cigar lighter/power socket power connection only when it is present.
