You should insert a small screwdriver from the left side of the column to release the shift cable from its pivot ball connection. First unscrew the shift cable from its retaining bracket through this process: lifting up the locking tab followed by cable fitting pull-up motions. Begin by taking the cruise control actuator out of the engine bay while prying away the grommet from its position in the dash panel. The shift cable needs its securing nut from the manual control lever to be removed for proper access. The locking tab must be elevated while the user pulls the shift cable to separate it from the transmission shift cable bracket. Remove the locking clip.
