2001 Ford E-150 Econoline Cruise Control Servo Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the cruise control servo on 2001 Ford E-150 Econoline?
A: The start of cruise control servo servicing requires one to disconnect the ground battery cable first. Start by taking out both the engine air cleaner along with its outlet tube. First disconnect the pin-type retainer then remove the accelerator control splash shield while replacing the pin-type retainer at the end of the task. The speed control cable needs to be detached from the throttle body cam by pulling the retaining tabs to remove the cable. Remove the bolts which hold the radiator coolant recovery reservoir to position it aside. The inner fender well attachment of the speed control servo requires separation by both disconnection of its electrical connector and bolt removal. The removal process for the speed control servo involves first pressing the locking tab and then rotating the speed control cable cap until the cable disconnects while taking out the servo. Complete the process by unfastening the bracket securing bolts from the speed control servo. The installation process should be reversed from the removal step.
