How to service the rear window wiper motor on 2001 Ford Escape?

You can access the rear window wiper motor by first raising the pivot arm vertically and unhooking the locking tab for removal of the pivot arm. Begin service of the rear wiper motor shaft by removing the rear wiper motor shaft nut cover and then the rear wiper motor shaft nut. Start by opening the liftgate and proceed to remove the rear wiper motor plastic cover from its position. First disconnect the electrical connector before you remove the front nut and rear bolt to retrieve the rear wiper motor from its position. Follow the exact opposite steps of removal to install the components.
