How to service and repair the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2001 Ford Explorer?

In order to service the Crankshaft Position Sensor, detach the battery ground cable and remove sensor. To install it, follow the procedure inversely, whereby the CKP sensors are attached to the damper and the wiring should not be along the battery cable because wear tabs will wear off with each engine revolution.
