How to service and repair the Crankshaft Position Sensor on Ford Explorer?

In order to service the Crankshaft Position Sensor, detach the battery ground cable and remove sensor. To install it, follow the procedure inversely, whereby the CKP sensors are attached to the damper and the wiring should not be along the battery cable because wear tabs will wear off with each engine revolution.

How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on Ford Explorer?

In order to service the CKP sensor, put the vehicle into neutral using a hoist. Unscrew the electrical connector, loosen the securing bolt and pull out the sensor. Install the new sensor, connecting the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) and laying the wiring out of the battery cable. Unundo the undo process.
