The vehicle requires grounding of its battery while following the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure to extract the refrigerant safely. Employ the appropriate steps to replace the air cleaner assembly. The condenser to evaporator tube needs to be detached from the A/C condenser core while discarding the existing O-ring seal. When reinstalling the condenser to evaporator tube use a new O-ring seal which needs lubrication with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent that meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Disconnect the condenser to evaporator tube and remove it while following the reverse installation process. The service ends with evacuation of the A/C system then leak testing and system charging.
