How to service the rear bumper reinforcement on the wagon on 2001 Ford Focus?

Service of the wagon rear bumper reinforcement starts by dismantling the upper push-pin retainers along with the loadspace side trim panel insert after taking out the retaining screws then moving the insert downwards. First disconnect the bumper cover side retaining nut from both sides of the car before raising the vehicle to reach better positions. Remove the bolt from the fender splash shield on both sides to separate it from the bumper cover before using one small clip and one nut to detach it from the fender. Finish the removal process by taking out lower push-pin retainers before the vehicle descent. The installer should follow the opposite process of removal to complete installation.
