2001 Ford Ranger Antenna Cable Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an Antenna Cable for One Piece Cable on 2001 Ford Ranger?
A: Start antenna cable service work by taking out the radio chassis from its position. Open the glove box door by releasing its tabs which allows you to lower it to complete openness. The lead-in cable wire clip must be disconnected while gently pushing the rubber grommet through the sheet metal before you guide the antenna lead-in cable through the hole. Turn the radio antenna mast counter-clockwise until you can remove it while also unclipping and taking off the radio antenna base cap. After unscrewing the components you should detach the antenna base and lead-in cable assembly which allows lifting out the antenna base as you disconnect the lead-in cable and push the rubber grommet through the sheet metal opening. The process of reinstallation should follow the steps in reverse order.
