How to Service and Repair the Front Door Latch Assembly on 2001 Ford Windstar?

The service process of the front door latch starts with removing the trim panel and setting aside the watershield before proceeding. First detach the door lock cylinder actuating rod together with electrical connectors. Pull the clip that separates the exterior door handle actuating rod and detach its rod. Afterward you can take out the mounting screws to safely position the front door latch for work. The cable cover should be removed followed by disconnecting the interior door handle cable and then releasing the cable conduit and disconnecting the cable.
