How to service and repair the alternator on 2001 Lincoln LS?

In order to repair the alternator, loosen the battery ground cable and loosen the accessory drive belt tension. Lift off the low splash shield, hold the generator and disconnect the electrical connectors and positive cable. You can separate the battery generator cable nut and take off the generator. To install, reverse the instructions.
