In order to repair the alternator, loosen the battery ground cable and loosen the accessory drive belt tension. Lift off the low splash shield, hold the generator and disconnect the electrical connectors and positive cable. You can separate the battery generator cable nut and take off the generator. To install, reverse the instructions.

In order to service the alternator, unconnect battery as well as the FEAD belt. Removal of front valance panel, air deflector and A/C suction line clip. Take the generator bolts and electrical connections off then the generator bracket. Installation Restart in opposite order and apply correct torque specification.
