How to service the front door window regulator on 2001 Lincoln LS?

The front door window regulator service requires starting with window glass removal from the front door. The first step should be to remove the anti-theft shield screw paired with disconnecting the door latch electrical connector. Handle the front door window glass followed by nut removal and place the anti-theft shield somewhere safe. The exterior door handle actuating rod will disconnect after releasing the clip before one can remove the door lock cylinder and nut for driver door servicing. First remove the screws of the latch and then take out the two nuts together with the bolt and the inner front door support bracket. First remove the front door inner support bolts from both sides before taking out the window regulator assembly bolts. Detach all harness locators before moving the harness according to necessary specifications. To reinstall the parts follow the step-by-step order in reverse direction.
