How to service and repair the coolant reservoir on 2001 Mercury Mountaineer?

In order to service the coolant reservoir, remove the air cleaner outlet tube and engine air cleaner. Disassemble the windshield washer hose/pump connector, radiator coolant recovery and washer reservoirs. Install them again, reconnect the hoses and connection points, and refill the cooling system.
