Service and repairs of the rear parking brake cable begin by releasing the parking brake control until all system tension fades away. Start the service by pulling the front parking brake cable as well as conduit followed by insertion of a drill bit sized 4 mm (5/32-inch) or equivalent retainer. The service process starts by taking out the tire assembly and brake cable removal should follow from the parking brake cable equalizer along with frame bracket. Clips from the parking brake cables should be compressed to take out the left-hand and right-hand rear cables and conduits. You should detach the muffler exhaust heat shield through nut and bolt removal. Start by taking out the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit bracket screw from the center support bracket and then rotate the rear parking brake cable out of the retaining clip for separation from the rear disc brake caliper anchor plate. Remove the parking brake rear cable alongside conduit from the parking brake lever after unclipping them. The new cable installation follows the steps of reversing the removal process.
