How to service the Steering Shaft on 2002 Ford Explorer?

When disconnecting the intermediate shaft to service the steering column shaft, make sure it does not rotate, or it may damage the Clock Spring. Take out and discard bolts to separate the shafts, then elevate the vehicle in order to release the lower intermediate shaft. Re-installation Reverse the steps to reinstall.
