How to Service and Repair the Accelerator Cable on 2002 Mercury Sable?

To service the accelerator pedal, release and loosen the cable tension and push the tabs of the pedal pin. Take away the splash shield and retainers. At the throttle, move the cam to WOT and remove the slug. Tap the bracket with the depress tabs, leaving the bulkhead grommet in place and then replace in reverse.
