2002 Mercury Villager A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser on 2002 Mercury Villager?
A: Service technicians should start HVAC condenser maintenance by extracting and recovering A/C refrigerant before they can detach the radiator. The A/C condenser core needs to be removed from the A/C compressor line after removing its peanut fitting before separating it from the auxiliary A/C line. You should first remove the left-hand and right-hand A/C condenser core bolts to get rid of the complete condenser unit. The replacement A/C condenser core installation requires the removal method to be reversed but the PAG Compressor Oil (R-134A systems) F2AZ-19577-AC (MC YN-12) that meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B must be used for core and seal lubrication. The suction accumulator needs replacement when physical signs indicate system contamination through A/C compressor failure or suction accumulator damage exists. Aside from these conditions the suction accumulator does not require replacement. Furthermore if an A/C condenser core leak occurs it should undergo a leakage test before removal.
