    A: The first step to servicing the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve requires removal of the appearance cover along with its appearance cover bracket. Use a tool to disconnect the EGR valve vacuum hose and the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge solenoid vapor hose. Unbolt the brake booster bracket together with the tube then disconnect the upper fitting of the EGR valve tube. Take the EGR valve out with waste of its gasket. Treat both sealing surfaces with great care before installing the new EGR valve by using newly provided gaskets because the valve contains soft metal construction. Use the following two-step bolt-tightening procedure on EGR valve installation: apply 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) torque followed by further tightening by 90 degrees. The EGR valve tube upper fitting must be reconnected after coupling the brake booster bracket and tube and reinstalling both the EGR valve vacuum hose together with the EVAP canister purge solenoid vapor hose. Conclude the process by replacing both the appearance cover bracket and appearance cover.
