How to service the EGR valve on Ford Expedition?

The service process for the EGR valve starts with bolt removal to detach the engine appearance cover. The first task entails disconnecting the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum hose followed by removing the brake booster tube bracket along with its nut. After disconnecting the upper fitting of the EGR valve tube you need to take out the EGR valve while discarding the gasket. Install a new gasket between sealing surfaces and perform this operation with extreme care toward the soft metal components. Secure the EGR valve by turning bolts initially to 20 Nm (15 Lb-Ft) then another 90 degrees. Proceed with reinstalling the brake booster bracket and upper fitting of the EGR valve tube and connect the EGR valve vacuum hose and engine appearance cover.
