How to service and repair the LH rear parking brake cable on 2003 Ford Expedition?

The service and repair operation of the LH rear parking brake cable requires complete release of parking brake cable tension as the first step. A helper should lower the front cable during this process while you insert the pin through both the park brake control frame and cam. The air suspension switch inside the RH kick panel must be switched off before any hoisting, jacking or towing activities on air suspension vehicles because disabling the air springs prevents unexpected pressure changes that could shift the vehicle. While supporting the vehicle lift it up first then separate the LH rear cable from the equalizer before taking out the conduit from the bracket using retainer compression forces. The following steps include taking out the LH rear cable that requires separation from its retaining clip together with the removal of the spring component and the disconnecting of the ABS sensor wire. The wireform bracket retaining screw needs removal, followed by retainer compression through which the conduit will become free and the cable end can be unclipped from the lever. The overall installation requires reversing the steps used for removal.
