Start by detaching both the water bypass hose and heated positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system heater water hose before removing the lower intake manifold through its long and short bolts. The installation requires replacement of the lower intake manifold produced sealing components. The installation process starts with positioning front and rear end seals of the lower intake manifold while applying silicone gasket and sealant at each mounting point. Place the intake manifold gaskets while maintaining a position of four minutes after sealing application for the lower intake manifold. The installer should apply silicone gasket and sealant to the lower intake manifold mounting points and then install the long and short bolts loosely. The installation consists of two steps to bolt tightening: 5 Nm (44 lb-in.) followed by 10 Nm (89 lb-in.). After installation of the fuel rail workers must reattach the water bypass hose and the heated PCV system heater water hose while connecting the IMRC electrical connector before attaching the upper radiator hose to the lower intake manifold and reconnecting the EGR valve vacuum hose to finish with EGR valve installation on the exhaust manifold tube upper fitting.
