How to Service the Cooling Hose Bypass Tube on a 3.8L Engine on 2003 Ford Mustang?

Draining engine coolant is the first step for servicing the bypass tube of a 3.8L engine. First drain all the engine coolant before removing the upper intake manifold to detach the bypass hose from the bypass tube. The first step removes the bolt from the bypass tube which connects to the coolant pump before disconnecting the quick connect fitting. You must remove the bypass tube after the bracket bolt removal. One must install a new O-ring seal onto the coolant bypass tube making sure to avoid damaging the O-ring while doing so to maintain engine coolant integrity. Clean the cylinder head O-ring sealing surfaces and apply premium engine coolant for lubricating the O-ring seal. Reinstall the bypass tube by proceeding with the opposite steps used for removal.
