How to Service the Cooling Hose and Bypass Tube on 2004 Ford Mustang?

The service of coolant line and bypass tube begins with draining the engine coolant. The upper intake manifold must be removed before disconnecting the bypass hose from the bypass tube. Before proceeding start by draining engine coolant and moving on to remove the bolt holding the bypass tube to the coolant pump and disconnect its quick connect fitting. Once you finish disconnecting the bracket bolts you must remove both the bypass tube. Affix a new O-ring seal onto the coolant bypass tube but avoid damaging the O-ring when installing to avert engine coolant leaks. First clean both sides of the O-rings located on the cylinder heads after which apply premium engine coolant for lubrication. After performing the installation procedure complete its execution by following the opposite sequence of removal steps.
