Removing the boot cover, in order to repair the rack and pinion boot, set aside the boot cover. A new nut is required. Uncouple the steering column of the steering column shaft and the flexible coupling, strip the column of its old nut, strip the column of its boot. In order to install the new boot, undo the steps taken.
