How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Hose from the Power Steering Pump to the Steering Gear Pressure Line on 4x2 on 2004 Ford Expedition?

Avoidance of contaminants entering the power steering system during repairs is essential because it will extend component longevity when servicing the power steering line between the pump and steering gear pressure line of 4x2 vehicles. Before maintenance start, turn off air suspension electrical power at the switch positioned near the jack compartment in the rear of the passenger section because unpowered air springs could lead to instability when the switch remains active. Position the vehicle on a hoist using NEUTRAL gear position. The first step involves removing both the bolts and oil drip shield before taking off the crossmember retainers through bolt removal. In separation of the 5.4L engine remove the retaining nut and detach the 4.6L engine nut also. Disconnect the pressure sensor electrical connector when dealing with an Expedition which has this feature plus disconnect the harness connector. After removing the line from behind the pump uninstall the pressure line bolt before proceeding with the opposite installation procedure. The power steering system requires completion along with leak check procedures before final installation.
