It is essential to check for any deformation on the sensor mounting bracket and wiring pigtail after accidents because any sensor components need immediate replacement along with correct repositioning of damaged supplemental restraint system (SRS) components regardless of whether air bags deployed. Safety glasses should be worn continually when performing this task to protect against potential injuries caused by accidental air bags releasing and memory saver devices should never be utilized because they present serious health threats. The air bag warning lamp will turn on when removing the RCM fuse with the ON ignition switch position and this normal condition does not reveal any SRS faults.
