The rubber hose portion of the filler pipe does not receive individual service which requires the installer to use new filler pipe assembly when necessary. The service begins with wheel nut loosening on the right-hand rear wheel followed by removing the fuel filler cap. Position the vehicle in neutral on a hoist and remove the right-hand rear wheel together with the splash shield. When removing the fuel tank vent and filler pipe utilize only tools with rounded edges because sharp tools might damage these components. Make note of how the retaining components are situated for their return to original position. Reverse the procedure by disconnecting all fuel tank vent tubes and solenoid tubes while protecting the canister vent solenoid from damage. Uninstall the fuel filler pipe after loosening the tie straps and removing its two bolts.
