2004 Ford Freestar A/C Accumulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on 2004 Ford Freestar?
A: In order to service the HVAC suction accumulator, recapture the refrigerant initially. F73Z-19577-AA mineral oils are used with O-ring seals, and not with the A/C compressor. PEG oil F7AZ-19D589-DA is recommended to be used as compressor lubrication. Take out O-rings and put in fresh lubricated with clean mineral oil. Install parts in the reverse order then evacuate, leak test and charge the system.
