2005 Lincoln Aviator A/C Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Front A/C Hose for the Auxiliary Evaporator Outlet and Inlet Line on 2005 Lincoln Aviator?
A: A proper service and repair procedure for the auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet line at the front requires the vehicle to be positioned on a hoist while set in neutral gear. First recover the refrigerant before performing the removal of the right-hand running board brackets. Cut off and throw away the O-ring seals which keep the two fittings of the A/C line. First remove the auxiliary line front brackets along with the auxiliary line bracket bolt and reinstall it at 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Tighten the two A/C line fitting nuts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) after removing the O-ring seals that you will discard. Start by unbolt and remove the three auxiliary line center bracket parts before taking out the auxiliary line outlet and inlet. The installation process requires the reverse order of removal while using new O-ring seals that need mineral oil lubrication followed by the correct application of clean PAG refrigerant compressor oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or WSH-M1C231-B equivalent according to specification. The refrigerant system evacuation process concludes through leak testing followed by charging the system.
