- Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Auxiliary Evaporator Outlet and Inlet A/C Hose on 2005 Lincoln Aviator?A: You should start services on the auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet line at the rear only when your vehicle is in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. Service technicians must first recover refrigerant before removing the spare tire and four spare tire carrier bolts. The technician must tighten bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) upon installing them back. Remove the spare tire carrier followed by the four A/C line fitting nuts which should be discarded with their O-ring seals; reinstall and secure these nuts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Dispose of the front bracket nut and remove the front bracket after which replace the rear bracket nut and secure it with 8 Nm (71 lb-in) torque while reinstalling. Tear out the rear bracket first before extracting the rear auxiliary evaporator outlet line in addition to the rear auxiliary evaporator inlet line. The line installation process should begin with the removal steps in reverse order while including fresh O-ring seals which receive clean mineral oil lubrication and proper application of clean PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) into the refrigerant system. The refrigerant system requires evacuation then leakage testing followed by charging while keeping in mind that only Refrigerant Compressor Oil F73Z-19577-AA (Motorcraft YN-9-A) should be used to lubricate R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals but cannot replace A/C compressor lubrication. The replacement of a receiver/drier unit becomes necessary only when indications show contamination from a defective air conditioning compressor or accumulator damage.
