How to service the steering wheel on 2005 Ford Escape?

In order to service the steering wheel, place it straight, take the ignition key out, and lock the column. Depower SRS, then unscrew pinion bolt, screwing it 12 Nm when screwing. To disassemble the wheel, unscrew the electrical connectors, then turn the process around and turn the SRS back on.
