    A: Service of the one-piece driveshaft requires the vehicle to be in NEUTRAL gear while sitting on a hoist. Index-mark the driveshaft yoke and the transfer case flange, as well as the driveshaft yoke and the rear axle pinion flange. Discard the four bolts after their removal. Pay attention when installing the driveshaft yoke because tight assembly between the rear axle pinion flange pilot hinders direct hammering of driveshaft and its components. Apply a proper tool to pry open the slots in both sides of the driveshaft yoke before undoing it from the flange to extract the driveshaft from the vehicle. When installing the component line up index marks first while fitting the transfer case flange to the driveshaft yoke followed by a connection of the rear axle pinion flange. Install four new bolts while keeping in mind that their direction depends on the specific vehicle requirements and then put them in a loose state. When tightening bolts secure the yoke seat on the flange by starting the bolt torque in a cross formation and then finishing with full torque on all bolts. Finally, lower the vehicle.
