To disconnect the driveshaft in vehicles with transfer cases or manual transmissions, users must first mark bolts that connect the driveshaft to the transfer case or transmission then they can support the shaft with mechanics wire. The automatic transmission process starts with indexing the output shaft to slip yoke before removal of center bearing support bolts and driveshaft assembly. Move the driveshaft backwards while lowering it from the transmission output shaft before plugging the extension housing to stop fluid leakages. Thoroughly clean grease deposits together with dirt and rust from the driveshaft yoke areas as well as all components before wiping the bearing and keeping the rubber insulator of the driveshaft center bearing free from solvent immersion.
