Service of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system module starts with disconnecting both electrical and vacuum connectors which attach to the EGR system module. The upper fitting of the EGR system module-to-exhaust manifold tube needs to be disconnected and reinstalled by torquing it to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). The installation of the new EGR module gasket should have its raised circle side turned toward the intake manifold. Take away the bolts from all parts while removing the EGR system module and related gasket which you need to throw away. It is essential to thoroughly clean both sealing surface areas of the EGR system module because its metal components are known for their soft nature. The installation process ends by following the removal steps backward while replacing it with a fresh EGR system module gasket which should be secured at 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
