2005 Ford Freestar A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser core on 2005 Ford Freestar?
A: A hoisted vehicle in NEUTRAL position is the first requirement for servicing the HVAC condenser core. First recover the refrigerant then remove the condenser outlet fitting nut followed by discarding the existing O-ring seal until proper tightening of 8 Nm (71 lb-in) can be achieved on the new component. Start by first removing five bumper cover screws along with the condenser inlet fitting nut and then discard its O-ring seal before tightening the new one to match the same specification. First detach the tube bracket and compressor manifold bolt followed by the line clip removal from the cooler then remove all lower radiator support clips. Support the lower radiator support correctly before removing the four lower radiator support bolts and proceed to support the cooling module before unbolting the lower radiator support. First disconnect the two bolts securing the condenser brackets and then take out the condenser core and finally the brackets. Reverse the removal procedures when installing but install new seals that received mineral oil treatment along with correct amounts of clean PAG oil to lubricate the refrigerant system. Evacuate the system while performing a leak test then conclude by charging the refrigerant system with proper maintenance.
