2005 Ford Mustang Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the clutch master cylinder on 2005 Ford Mustang?
A: Partial draining of the brake and clutch reservoir can begin using a suitable suction gun until the clutch reservoir nipple remains visible. The reservoir hose at the brake and clutch reservoir needs to be disconnected and the hose should be plugged to stop fluid from leaking. Start the procedure by taking out the two suction accumulator bolts before placing the suction accumulator element to the side. Disassemble the hydraulic line by eliminating its clip and separate the clutch pedal pin's retaining clip. You should disconnect the clutch master cylinder from the clutch pedal by removing its two bolts while tightening them to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.) for reinstallation. After removing the clutch master cylinder from the vehicle you must separate its reservoir hose. The reinstallation requires performing the opposite process while adding new hose clamps to the reservoir hose and refilling both brake and clutch reservoirs with recommended fluid before bleeding the clutch hydraulic system. Resulting brake fluid spills must prompt immediate action as they can damage painted or plastic materials but these spills can be cleaned with water so keep eyes away from fluid contacts and follow eye flushing with running water for 15 minutes before seeking medical help if irritation appears.
