2005 Ford Taurus A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser core of the HVAC system on 2005 Ford Taurus?
A: The first step for condenser core servicing includes total refrigerant extraction from the HVAC system. Place the vehicle on a hoist system with neutral gear selection. The left-hand side of the condenser core demands the same two bolt removal process that the right-hand side provides. The first step involves removing the four pin-type retainers along with the grille and then proceeding to take out the two pin-type retainers situated at the back of the grille opening reinforcement. The lower radiator air deflector must be taken off after unscrewing five screws followed by additional seven screws to remove the air deflector. Eliminate the plastic wire tie then remove the condenser core refrigerant lines by disconnecting them while discarding both O-ring seals. The pin-type retainers combined with the left-hand and right-hand side air deflectors must be removed to access the bolts which will lower the condenser core. The installation requires the same reverse steps after which new O-ring seals should be used along with clean mineral oil lubrication and a precise application of the correct volume of clean PAG refrigerant compressor oil F7AZ-19D589-DA according to WSH-M1C231-B Ford specification. The refrigerant system evacuation process must be followed by leak testing before system charging.
